The King: The Provider Face of the God | Divine Archetypes Series - Part 6
Click here to read from the beginning.
The King God, also known as the Provider, is the mature and steady face of the God. If the Hero represents the bold leap into life’s possibilities, the King is the one who has climbed the mountain and now rules from its peak. He is the zenith of power, purpose, and responsibility. His energy is active, focused, and directed toward providing, protecting, and building. Where the Hero is carefree and spontaneous, the King represents stability, maturity, and the ability to care for both self and community. He is the guardian of structure and the protector of growth, teaching us that true power lies not in domination, but in stewardship, justice, and wisdom.

Did you miss the last post on the Hero God?
But the King? This one felt harder to grasp.
I recently took some time away from blogging because I was overwhelmed by stress surrounding the blog itself. I kept asking myself: What’s the point if nobody is reading? SEO struggles, AI dominating search engines, voice search changing the landscape; it felt like a losing battle. Writing in this niche of spirituality and witchcraft, I sometimes wonder: why would anyone read about my struggles when AI can spit out an answer in seconds?
And then came the bigger question: Do I just quit?
The truth is, I don’t really want to quit. I love writing. But I’ve struggled with whether this path is worth the battle. While journaling for this very post, two questions surfaced: What legacy do I want to leave behind? and How do I respond when things don’t go according to plan? The energy of these two questions: inspirational. They forced me to look at my work differently, not as a burden, but as something with meaning beyond clicks and algorithms.
Then came my reality: I had messed up; not with my writing, but with Facebook. A misunderstood comment led to a restriction on my personal account, which also crippled my business page. Even after appeal, the “strike” remained, cutting off my ability to share posts, videos, and my group. I suddenly found myself walled in, with no customer support, no clear way forward, and no way to use the platform I had depended on.
That realization gutted me. But it also reminded me of what the King does best: pause, survey the field, and decide how to lead forward.
The King archetype is about legacy, responsibility, and the ability to respond with wisdom instead of impulse. He teaches that when things fall apart, it isn’t always failure. It’s an opportunity to reflect, reorganize, and rebuild. My impatience and ambition had led me to act without thinking, and now I was paying the price. This was my personal reminder of the shadow side of the King: blind ambition, rigidity, and anger.
But the King also teaches us to know when to step back and start fresh. He doesn’t throw himself recklessly into every battle like the Hero. He sees the larger picture. He knows when to conserve energy, when to withdraw, and when to return stronger.
That’s where I am now. My new plan is to begin again with social media, to rebuild, even if it means deleting old business pages and groups. It’s not a defeat. It’s a strategic retreat, a chance to realign with what truly matters: creating content with meaning, not just chasing numbers.
The King God reminds me that legacy isn’t built overnight. It’s built through steady action, wise choices, and the willingness to adapt when the ground shifts beneath you. Right now, my work is less about rushing forward like the Hero, and more about stepping into the King: grounded, purposeful, and ready to protect the work that brings me joy.
In my own journey, I’m learning that the King’s wisdom doesn’t come from perfection, but from experience: from mistakes, challenges, and the willingness to start again with more clarity. That is the gift of the King: to transform setbacks into strategies, to hold space for growth, and to use power in ways that nurture stability and hope for the future.
As you reflect on the King in your own life, ask yourself:

A Personal Connection to the King God
As I was writing this installment on the God, I began by asking myself: Where in my life am I the King? It wasn’t easy to see. In many ways, I feel more like a Goddess, Queen, or even the Hero than I do the King. But we all carry these energies, whether we realize it or not. Feeling like a Goddess or Hero doesn’t always mean I’m truly embodying them, it just means those energies show up differently in my journey. But the King? This one felt harder to grasp.
