Day 7 – Day of Humanity (Everyone’s Birthday)
  • This day is believed to be the birthday of all humans!
  • People eat longevity noodles for a long life.

Day 8 – Family Dinner & Prayers
  • More prayers are made to the gods for blessings.
  • Another big family meal is enjoyed.

Day 9 – Celebrating the Jade Emperor’s Birthday
  • People worship the Jade Emperor, ruler of heaven.
  • Offerings like incense, fruit, and tea are made.

Day 10-12 – Feasting Continues
  • Families and friends visit each other.
  • Lots of eating and celebrations continue!

Day 13 – Day of Purification
  • A day to rest and eat light foods (like vegetables) after so many feasts.

Day 14 – Preparation for the Lantern Festival
  • People start getting ready for the Lantern Festival.
  • Paper lanterns are decorated and prepared.

Day 15 – Lantern Festival (February 12, 2025)
  • The last and most beautiful day of the celebrations!
  • People light lanterns and send them into the sky.
  • Families eat tangyuan (sweet rice balls) to symbolize unity.
  • Dragon dances and parades fill the streets.

Chinese New Year Traditions

During these 15 days, people follow important traditions:
